Mon, August 22, 2022 6:00 pm | Swedish Fiddle Workshop Arlington, MA, USA | Swedish Polska: Rolls or Biscuits? You don’t have to be a Swedish chef to hear the special lilt in Swedish fiddling: sometimes yeasty and animated, sometimes smooth and rolling. We’ll look into the two main types of polska (an ancient 3/4 rhythm) — even and uneven — and the regions where each is played. Then we’ll delve further into the bowing, captivating rhythms, and “mouth-feel” of two diverse polska dialects. Workshop 6-8, jam and dessert potluck 8-9:30 $30 Contact me for information. |
